D1041 Restoration

All of the latest week to week information is now recorded on Facebook. The work reported on Facebook will still be documented here from time to time by way of digests. The D1041 FB page is private so you may need to be approved by a moderator. Click Here to Join!

Western Prince has been out of service since 2004 and has spent some of the subsequent years in storage awaiting its turn in the queue for attention. A potted Restoration History, giving the background story, can be found here.

A small but regular workforce is engaged in the restoration process, details of the jobs undertaken at Bury and off-site are documented here with photographs and reports.

Volunteering

A small but dedicated team from Bury Hydraulic Group (BHG) work on all things Hydraulic at Bury, including D9531 Ernest, D7076, D832 Onslaught and of course D1041 Western Prince.

See the ELRPS Website for general information regarding volunteering at the ELR. All volunteers are required to join the ELRPS. Work can begin using self-certification forms until relevant courses have been taken. Basic Safety and Personal Trackside Safety training is provided plus ELR Medical, as soon as practicable.

If you would like to discuss becoming a volunteer with one of the team, please get in touch:
